Exterior Renovation of a single-family home built in 1945. The design involved the re-skinning of the entire envelope of the dwelling and the addition of a new roof line with (3) gables all that coincided with the American Craftsman Style architecture of the late 19th century. The challenge we faced was to achieve the desired aesthetic while keeping all existing doors and windows in their current locations to reduce cost to the client. Included in the renovation was a full porch added on right off of the living room facing South Oregon Road with access to a new driveway as well as another porch defining the main entrance into the house facing Barnum Street. We also replaced the existing carport with a new enclosed garage/workshop. The remodel, which was the first of two phases, will also structurally allow for a second floor to be added in the future with the existing client or as a selling point for a new owner.
